The students have been working so hard learning about some of their favorite characters. At home, students were to create a paper bag project about a character in a series or book that they were reading. After reading the book and really getting to know their character the students had draw a picture, describe the characters inside and outside traits and make a connection to their character. Inside the bag, students had 5 objects that described or told about their character. On presentation day, the students dressed up like their character and presented their bags and items to their parents and family members as well as the first graders.

We have a visitor in 2M this month! His name is Karl, the Kindness Elf. He wrote us this letter:
Dear Class, Hi! My name is Karl and I am a Kindness Elf. I am going to be visiting your classroom for the next few weeks. I like to help people spread kindness, especially during the holiday season! Do you think that you could help me spread kindness around Roosevelt school? Each day I will have a new message with a different way to spread kindness at school and even sometimes at home! If you have an idea for a way to spread kindness you can write it in a note during recess or after school and then give it to your teacher. I can’t wait to see all the kind things you do for each other and others in your lives. Remember to always be kind, not just when I’m around =)!! Kindly, Karl, The Kindness Elf |
